Tennessee football is hitting its peak and this week brought out the players who do far more than fill a role. These athletes drive their programs, change momentum and deliver the type of production that lifts a team when it matters most. Here is the full breakdown of each analyst’s spotlight and underrated selections with deeper context and on-field impact.

Tray’s Board

Spotlight Player: Omarii Sanders – FRA – FS and WR

Sanders is one of the most complete two-way athletes in Tennessee. At safety he shows range, discipline and the ability to close ground as soon as the quarterback commits. He covers space with confidence and brings strong physical presence when he arrives at the ball. On offense FRA moves him around the formation because his size and body control create instant mismatches.

His production this season reflects that versatility. Sanders has posted multiple games with explosive receiving numbers including multi-touchdown performances in high pressure spots. His ability to high-point the ball and win through contact gives FRA an automatic advantage whenever they feature him in the pass game.

Why he is a spotlight player: Sanders does not just contribute. He changes matchups. He affects the game in all three phases and performs his best when the moment gets bigger.

Underrated Player: JaColby Cooper – Alcoa – WR and SS

Cooper has been a steady and productive piece on an Alcoa roster loaded with talent. He brings consistent value to the vertical passing game by finding open space and stretching the field. His yards per catch continue to rise and he has become a reliable third down option.

Defensively he plays with strong pursuit angles and disciplined tackling. His ability to cover ground and support the run makes him a trusted piece in the secondary. Even in blowout wins he finds ways to stand out on film.

Why he is underrated: Alcoa’s success often overshadows individual performances, but Cooper’s consistency and two-way skill set make him one of their most important and overlooked contributors.

DA’s Board

Spotlight Player: Tory Beaufort – Maryville – WR

Beaufort is a reliable spark for the Maryville offense. His acceleration out of breaks and smooth route running create separation early in the route and his yards after catch ability adds explosive potential on every play. Throughout the season he has posted multiple triple digit receiving games and has delivered big plays even when defenses roll coverage toward him.

He has a strong feel for spacing which allows him to sit down in zones, find leverage and maintain drives for Maryville. His production remains steady and his effort fits the standard of one of the most disciplined programs in Tennessee.

Why he is a spotlight player: Beaufort combines big play ability with consistency. His impact forces defenses to adjust and gives Maryville a dependable number one option.

Underrated Player: Will Butler – Green Hill – Safety and Receiver

Butler brings toughness and football instincts to Green Hill’s secondary. His tackle numbers remain high because he reads the run quickly and attacks the ball with confidence. In playoff settings he elevates his performance and has posted games with double digit tackles, key interceptions and momentum changing turnovers.

On offense he contributes as a possession receiver who wins through contact and extends drives with reliable hands. His leadership on both sides of the ball stands out each week.

Why he is underrated: His production resembles an all region defender but the statewide attention has not fully landed yet. His consistency and competitive mindset make him an essential piece for Green Hill.

JG’s Board

Spotlight Player: Jonathan Jordan – Eagleville – RB and LB

Jordan is the tone setter for Eagleville. On offense he runs with purpose, power and balance while displaying the effort of a true workhorse back. He finishes through contact and wears down defenders as the game progresses. His production includes multiple one hundred yard rushing games and he maintains the same impact late in contests.

On defense he shows strong pursuit and dependable tackling. His playoff performance featuring one hundred rushing yards and twelve tackles highlights how important he is to both phases of the game.

Why he is a spotlight player: Jordan provides leadership, toughness and production on every snap. His ability to anchor both sides of the ball makes him one of the top all around players in his classification.

Underrated Player: Jacob Vaughn – Riverdale – RB and ATH

Vaughn has emerged as one of the top young runners in the mid state. His burst through the line and balance through contact allow him to create explosive plays routinely. He has delivered multiple two hundred yard rushing performances with long touchdown runs that shift momentum for Riverdale.

Even as a young player he reads blocks well and shows patience to find cutback lanes. His growth and production already mirror those of a veteran feature back.

Why he is underrated: Vaughn’s age keeps him under the statewide radar but his numbers and game changing plays make it clear that he is on a fast rise toward becoming one of the top backs in Tennessee.

D’s Board

Spotlight Player: Nolan Adams – Clay County – WR, S and ATH

Adams is a versatile weapon who impacts multiple areas of the offense. Clay County relies on him to line up at quarterback, receiver and running back depending on the matchup. His production includes two hundred yard rushing games, touchdown passes and explosive plays from the perimeter.

He brings toughness to the run game and patience to the pass game which allows Clay County to maintain balance and unpredictability. His versatility and reliability make him one of the most valuable players in rural Tennessee.

Why he is a spotlight player: Adams gives Clay County a dynamic option who can carry the offense and shift the momentum of any game.

Underrated Player: Tot Gardner – Marshall County – RB and CB

Gardner has produced at a high level all season. His running style is physical with sharp change of direction and strong acceleration which helps him slip tackles and extend plays. He has posted multiple games with two hundred fifty rushing yards and multi touchdown performances that carried Marshall County through key moments.

On defense he brings that same fire with strong tackling and competitive reps on the perimeter. His combination of vision and toughness make him effective as both a runner and defender.

Why he is underrated: Gardner’s production is advanced for his class year and he performs like an upperclassman. His numbers and playmaking ability prove he is one of the top emerging talents in the region.
