Kaylen Kenney (Ezell-Harding Christian) accepted the 3PT contest award from Coach Jeremy Pope (Next Level Skills Academy)

The Tennessee High School Basketball All-Star Game delivered exactly what the moment called for — elite talent, high-level competition, and an atmosphere that reflected the continued growth of basketball across the state.

Held at Valor College Prep Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, and hosted by Next Level Skills Academy in partnership with We The City Podcast, the event brought together some of Tennessee’s top high school players for a night centered around exposure, skill, and competitive pride.

From the opening tip, the energy inside the gym was undeniable. A strong crowd, engaged supporters, and a competitive edge from every participant created an environment that elevated the entire experience. This wasn’t just another showcase — it was a celebration of the game at its highest high school level in Tennessee.

Shooting Excellence Takes Center Stage

One of the most defining storylines of the night came from beyond the arc.

Kaylen Kenney of Ezell-Harding Christian delivered a standout performance, earning the title of overall three-point champion — outperforming both boys and girls competitors. Her shooting display was marked by rhythm, confidence, and consistency under pressure, setting her apart as one of the night’s top performers.

Jackson McCutcheon of Brentwood also made a strong impression in the contest, showcasing polished mechanics and perimeter efficiency throughout his rounds.

Dunk Contest Brings High-Flying Energy

The dunk contest added another layer of excitement to an already electric night.

Jeremy Davis and Isaiah Ring each delivered highlight-worthy moments, combining creativity and athleticism to energize the crowd. However, it was Jaiden Pugh of Hillsboro who ultimately rose above the competition. With a mix of elevation, control, and clean execution, Pugh secured the dunk contest title and left a lasting impression.

MVP Performances Define the Night

When the games tipped off, two players separated themselves through their overall impact.

Kennedy Thornton of East Nashville Magnet and Lawson Lee of Battle Ground Academy were named MVPs, each demonstrating control of tempo, scoring ability, and leadership throughout their respective matchups.

Their performances went beyond the stat sheet — both players set the tone for how the game was played and elevated those around them.

Public vs. Private: A Competitive Narrative

The Public vs. Private format added an extra layer of intrigue to the event.

The matchups highlighted stylistic differences between programs, including pace, depth, and execution. The structure pushed players to adapt and compete at a high level, creating a balanced and competitive environment on both ends of the floor.

A Platform for Statewide Talent

While individual performances stood out, the larger purpose of the event remained clear.

This All-Star setting provided athletes with an opportunity to gain exposure, compete against top-tier talent, and represent their schools with pride. Every player who stepped onto the floor contributed to the intensity and success of the night.

Recognition is due to all participants — the effort, focus, and competitiveness were evident from start to finish.

Looking Ahead

The Tennessee High School Basketball All-Star Game proved to be more than just a showcase — it offered a glimpse into the future of basketball across the state.

With talent continuing to rise across both public and private programs, events like this play a critical role in development, evaluation, and exposure. The foundation is strong, and the next wave of players is already pushing the standard forward.

One thing is clear — the level of basketball in Tennessee is continuing to elevate.
