Every week, Triple Threat Sportscast puts the spotlight on players across Middle Tennessee who deserve a little extra attention.

Sometimes it is an established senior taking over a football game. Sometimes it is a young player giving everybody an early look at what could be coming over the next few years.

This week’s TTS Tuesday Talent selections give us a little bit of everything.

Triple Threat D went with East Robertson quarterback Kason Young. Triple Threat Tray selected Hillsboro’s Roman Counts. Triple Threat JG chose Ezell-Harding running back Kristian Jones. And Coach Daniel went with Rockvale running back Romeo George.

Four players.

Four different stories.

Every one of them gave us a reason to pay attention.

Triple Threat D’s Pick: Kason Young — East Robertson

Senior | Quarterback | No. 4 | Class of 2027

At this point in his career, Kason Young is not exactly introducing himself to Middle Tennessee football.

He is reminding everybody.

The four-year varsity quarterback has already built an impressive résumé at East Robertson, and his senior season is adding another chapter.

Against Jo Byrns, Young was in complete command.

He threw for 294 yards and four touchdowns as East Robertson rolled to a 41-6 victory, pushing the Indians to 3-0 on the season. Young averaged 11.3 yards per passing attempt in the performance.

That is quarterback efficiency.

That is production.

And most importantly, that is winning football.

Young entered the 2026 season having already thrown for nearly 6,000 career yards with 65 passing touchdowns while also producing more than 1,400 rushing yards during his varsity career.

That experience shows.

Young is not simply a quarterback capable of putting up numbers through the air. His ability to extend plays and hurt defenses with his legs makes him a legitimate dual-threat quarterback, and having multiple seasons behind center gives him something statistics cannot completely measure: experience.

When you have been running a varsity offense for four years, you have seen pressure. You have seen different coverages. You have been in close games. You have had to respond when things were not going right.

Now we are seeing all of that experience come together during his senior season.

294 passing yards. Four touchdowns. A 41-6 victory.

That is why Kason Young gets the Triple Threat D Tuesday Talent stamp.

And with East Robertson sitting at 3-0, this probably will not be the last time we are talking about No. 4 this season.

Triple Threat Tray’s Pick: Roman Counts — Hillsboro

Sophomore | TE / Two-Way Athlete | Class of 2029

This selection represents something different.

Hillsboro did not win its game against East Nashville.

But Roman Counts still made himself impossible to ignore.

The sophomore finished with eight tackles and produced one of the biggest individual plays of the night when he recovered a fumble and took it 78 yards for a touchdown in Hillsboro’s 52-40 loss.

Think about that play.

Recovering the football requires awareness.

Turning upfield requires instinct.

Taking it 78 yards to the end zone requires athleticism and speed.

And Roman Counts is only a sophomore.

Listed around 6 feet and capable of contributing at tight end while also impacting the game defensively, Counts is exactly the type of young player TTS wants to identify before everybody knows the name.

His impact has not been limited to one position.

That is what makes this selection interesting.

Counts represents another important part of Tuesday Talent: projection.

We are not looking at a finished product.

We are looking at a young player beginning to show us what the finished product might eventually become.

At the Class of 2029 level, there is still plenty of physical growth, development and football ahead.

But eight tackles and a 78-yard defensive touchdown against East Nashville?

That is enough to get our attention right now.

Young. Versatile. Athletic.

Triple Threat Tray found somebody worth keeping on the radar.

Remember the name: Roman Counts.

Triple Threat JG’s Pick: Kristian Jones — Ezell-Harding

Sophomore | Running Back

How about 294 rushing yards on 11 carries?

Yes, you read that correctly.

Ezell-Harding sophomore running back Kristian Jones exploded against Franklin Christian Academy.

Jones carried the football only 11 times and turned those opportunities into 294 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He also added 39 receiving yards in Ezell-Harding’s 24-14 victory.

That comes out to 26.7 rushing yards per carry.

His night also included a 91-yard run.

That is explosive-play ability at another level.

Most running backs need serious volume to approach 300 rushing yards.

Jones almost reached it with only 11 carries.

Every time he touched the football, there was a legitimate possibility the play could change the game.

Ezell-Harding finished with 410 rushing yards as a team, its best rushing performance since at least August 2025, with Jones leading the way.

But here is the part that makes Triple Threat JG’s selection even more exciting.

He is a sophomore.

This is not a senior putting the finishing touches on his high school career with one enormous performance.

Jones still has years remaining to develop.

If you are already capable of producing 294 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a varsity game as a sophomore, the ceiling becomes extremely interesting.

Speed.

Acceleration.

Big-play ability.

Production.

And youth.

That is a combination worth watching.

Triple Threat JG is not waiting until everybody else knows about Kristian Jones.

TTS is putting the spotlight on him now.

Coach Daniel’s Pick: Romeo George — Rockvale

Senior | Running Back | No. 3

There is something dangerous about a running back who does not need 25 carries to take over a football game.

Romeo George does not need them.

Against Station Camp, Rockvale’s senior running back carried the football just 15 times.

The result?

193 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

That is nearly 13 yards every time he carried the football.

George’s touchdown runs went for 47, 26 and 65 yards as Rockvale survived a 31-30 thriller.

His performance also earned him recognition among the Murfreesboro area’s top athletes for the week.

That is what explosive looks like.

Give him a crease and he can turn it into six points.

Get out of position and he can make you pay from anywhere on the field.

Station Camp learned that the hard way.

George has helped Rockvale open the season 3-0, and the Rockets followed their dramatic victory over Station Camp with a dominant 37-6 win over LaVergne.

For a senior, there is urgency attached to every Friday night.

There is no next year.

This is the final ride.

And Romeo George is making his count.

What makes him especially dangerous is the combination of production and explosiveness. Defenses are not simply trying to prevent Rockvale from consistently moving the chains.

They also have to worry about No. 3 taking one all the way to the house.

47 yards.

26 yards.

65 yards.

Three touchdown runs.

One huge night.

And an undefeated Rockvale team.

That is why Romeo George is Coach Daniel’s Tuesday Talent selection.

Four Picks. Four Different Stories.

That is what makes this week’s group special.

Kason Young represents experience — a four-year varsity quarterback leading an undefeated East Robertson team and throwing four touchdowns in his latest performance.

Roman Counts represents potential — a Class of 2029 athlete already producing impact plays on the varsity level.

Kristian Jones represents explosion — 294 rushing yards on only 11 carries from a sophomore who is just getting started.

Romeo George represents senior urgency — an explosive running back helping Rockvale build an undefeated start while making the most of his final high school season.

Different schools.

Different positions.

Different stages of their careers.

But they all have one thing in common.

They showed up when the lights came on.
