The Nashville-area high school basketball scene continues to bring elite-level competition, strong schedules, and championship-caliber programs. This week’s Wednesday Rankings highlight teams that are not only winning games but doing so against quality competition. Here’s how the Top 10 Nashville Area teams stack up heading into the heart of the season.

Wednesday Rankings: Top 10 Nashville Area Boys High School Basketball Teams (2025–26)

1. Lipscomb Academy (14–0)

Rating: 27.64 | SOS: 11.40

Lipscomb Academy remains the gold standard in the Nashville area. Undefeated, disciplined, and efficient on both ends of the floor, this group checks every box. Their strong strength of schedule backs up the record, and they continue to look like a deep postseason threat.

2. Brentwood (11–1)

Rating: 24.86 | SOS: 10.86

Brentwood has been one of the most consistent teams in Middle Tennessee. With quality wins and a proven ability to compete against top-tier opponents, this team continues to solidify itself as a legitimate contender.

3. Eagleville (10–0)

Rating: 21.94 | SOS: 4.85

Undefeated and confident, Eagleville continues to handle business. While the schedule hasn’t been as demanding, the consistency and execution keep them firmly in the top tier.

4. Franklin (9–1)

Rating: 21.87 | SOS: 9.17

Franklin’s combination of solid competition and quality wins is starting to show. This is a well-rounded team that plays with physicality and poise, especially late in games.

5. Warren County (8–2)

Rating: 21.36 | SOS: 12.47

One of the toughest schedules in the Nashville area, Warren County has proven it can battle night after night. Their rating reflects resilience and competitiveness against strong opposition.

6. Providence Christian Academy (8–3)

Rating: 20.96 | SOS: 14.01

Battle-tested and proven. PCA’s strength of schedule is elite, and their record reflects a team that isn’t afraid to take on anyone. Expect them to peak later in the season.

7. Pope John Paul II (11–2)

Rating: 20.89 | SOS: 9.72

PJP continues to win games with structure and discipline. Their consistency and ability to close games makes them a dangerous matchup in district and postseason play.

8. Brentwood Academy (10–1)

Rating: 19.81 | SOS: 5.89

Brentwood Academy continues to trend upward. A strong record and improving chemistry make this a team to keep an eye on as competition intensifies.

9. Henry County (11–0)

Rating: 19.24 | SOS: 1.88

An undefeated record always commands attention. While the schedule hasn’t been demanding, Henry County continues to dominate opponents and build momentum.

10. Cookeville (8–3)

Rating: 18.85 | SOS: 12.84

Cookeville rounds out the Nashville-area Top 10 with a tough schedule and competitive results. This team has proven it can compete with quality opponents.

Wednesday Rankings: Top 10 Nashville Area Girls High School Basketball Teams (2025–26)

The Nashville-area girls basketball landscape continues to show depth, discipline, and competitive balance. This week’s Wednesday Rankings spotlight teams that are winning consistently while facing strong competition across Middle Tennessee.

1. York Institute (11–2)

Rating: 28.16 | SOS: 18.22

York Institute sits atop the Nashville-area rankings with one of the strongest overall profiles in the state. A high rating paired with a brutal strength of schedule shows this group is battle-tested and legit.

2. White County (14–1)

Rating: 26.61 | SOS: 11.65

White County continues to stack wins while maintaining a solid schedule. Their consistency on both ends of the floor has them trending as a deep postseason threat.

3. Lebanon (10–2)

Rating: 26.45 | SOS: 16.00

Lebanon’s strength of schedule stands out in the Nashville area. This team has proven it can compete night after night against quality opponents.

4. Christ Presbyterian Academy (11–0)

Rating: 24.60 | SOS: 8.32

Undefeated and disciplined, CPA continues to handle business. While the schedule has been moderate, the execution and results speak loudly.

5. Green Hill (12–0)

Green Hill remains undefeated and continues to build momentum. Their record reflects confidence, chemistry, and strong team play.

6. Lipscomb Academy (12–2)

7. Cookeville (12–1)

Cookeville has quietly put together a strong season. Their ability to win close games against solid competition keeps them firmly in the Top 10.

8. Upperman (11–3)

Upperman’s schedule strength and physical style of play continue to test opponents. This team is built for postseason basketball.

9. Ensworth (7–0)

Undefeated with room to grow, Ensworth remains one of the more intriguing teams in the Nashville area as competition ramps up.

10. Coffee County Central (6–1)

Rounding out the Top 10, Coffee County Central has shown the ability to compete against solid opponents while maintaining a winning record.
