Blackman High School football is heading into a new chapter.
Head coach Matt Kriesky has resigned from his position, officially stepping away after three seasons leading the Blaze. Kriesky informed school officials earlier today that he is leaving the program to spend more time with his family.
School leadership praised Kriesky and his staff for the impact they made on the program, emphasizing how much they contributed not only on the field, but within the school and the Blackman community as a whole.
The timing stands out because Blackman is coming off a season that reset expectations for the program. The Blaze finished 12–2 and reached the state semifinals, marking just the second semifinal appearance in school history and the most wins the program has ever recorded in a single season.
With the resignation now official, Blackman is expected to begin its search for a new head coach immediately. The next hire will inherit a program coming off one of its strongest stretches and a roster that will be looking to maintain momentum moving forward.
