Battleground Academy vs. Pope John Paul II — Week 9 Recap
Week 9 brought fireworks for Battleground Academy, and freshman wide receiver Maddox Porter stole the show. The young star torched Pope John Paul II’s secondary with 6 receptions, 124 yards, and 3 touchdowns — helping the Wildcats close out the night with a statement win as the regular season nears its end.
Quarterback Kaedyn Marable was dialed in from the jump, delivering pinpoint passes and trusting his freshman playmaker to make big-time catches in key moments. The chemistry between Marable and Porter was undeniable — every time Porter got the ball in space, he made something happen.
With just one week left in the regular season, BGA looks locked in and ready to make noise heading into the postseason. And if Friday night was any preview, the Marable-to-Porter connection could be a real problem for defenses down the stretch.
