When Providence Christian Academy needed a leader on the biggest stage, Chris Washington Jr. delivered.

The No. 33 forward helped power the Lions to their second straight Division II-A state championship at the BlueCross Basketball Championships on March 7, 2026, putting together a dominant performance when it mattered most.

Washington finished the championship game with 13 points and 15 rebounds, while posting a +15 plus/minus, showing just how impactful he was whenever he was on the floor. His presence on both ends helped Providence Christian control the game and secure another gold ball.

His performance throughout the tournament earned him Division II-A All-Tournament MVP honors for the second straight year, solidifying his role as the centerpiece of Providence Christian’s championship run.

At 6-foot-8 with elite athleticism and versatility, Washington has already built a national reputation. He is an Iverson Classic All-American, has surpassed 2,000 career points and 1,000 rebounds at Providence Christian Academy, and has earned multiple Division I scholarship offers as one of the top prospects in the Class of 2026.

But on championship night, the focus wasn’t on rankings or recruiting buzz.

It was about finishing the mission.

With his leadership, rebounding dominance, and ability to rise in the biggest moments, Chris Washington Jr. helped lead Providence Christian Academy to back-to-back state championships, adding another historic chapter to the Lions’ program.
