This week’s numbers keep telling the same truth: there is real separation at the top, and the middle of the pack is where ratings and strength of schedule matter more than raw record. These lists combine Nashville-area Top 10s plus Tennessee statewide Top 10s for both boys and girls, based on the MaxPreps update as of January 11, 2026.

How to read these rankings
Rating is the overall power number that helps separate teams beyond just win-loss record. Strength of Schedule (SOS) is the context check. An undefeated record with a light SOS can still land behind a team with a few more losses that has been playing tougher competition all year.
Nashville Area Boys Top 10
1. Lipscomb Academy (19–1)
Rating: 29.55 | SOS: 14.51
Lipscomb Academy is still the standard in the Nashville area. The rating looks national, not just local, and the SOS backs it up. One loss has not moved them off the top line.
2. Brentwood (16–2)
Rating: 27.60 | SOS: 14.73
Brentwood continues to play like the clear No. 2. The rating stays elite and the schedule strength shows they are earning it against quality opponents, not padding a record.

5. Knoxville Catholic (14–3)

Rating: 28.40 | SOS: 17.92

3. Lebanon (13–3)

4. York Institute (15–3)
