Brentwood Academy Edges Briarcrest Christian in a Thriller

Brentwood Academy (7–0) held off a late rally from Briarcrest Christian to secure a 34–31 win in one of Friday night’s most dramatic finishes. The Eagles relied on their poise and discipline down the stretch, forcing a key turnover that sealed the victory. Brentwood’s defense tightened up when it mattered most, while Briarcrest’s offense, led by quarterback Hudson Tucker and receiver William Jones, kept the pressure on throughout the night.

This win keeps Brentwood unbeaten and battle-tested as the postseason looms. The Eagles’ ability to close tight games continues to separate them from the pack.

Ensworth Outlasts CPA Behind Ground Game and Grit

Ensworth (6–2) leaned heavily on its physical run game to grind out a 28–21 victory over Christ Presbyterian Academy. Running back EJ Gibson set the tone early, carrying the load between the tackles and breaking key runs to keep the chains moving. The Tigers’ offensive line controlled the tempo, while quarterback play remained steady and mistake-free.

CPA fought back in the second half, cutting the deficit and testing Ensworth’s composure. But the Tigers’ defense came up with a critical stop late, recovering an onside kick to seal the win. The victory highlights Ensworth’s maturity in finishing close games and maintaining momentum against tough opponents.

Nashville Christian Survives a Shootout with Tyner Academy

In what might go down as one of the most exciting games of the season, Nashville Christian (7–0) held off Tyner Academy 49–42 in a high-octane showdown. The Eagles’ offense was clicking on all levels — quarterback Jared Curtis delivered with precision through the air, while versatile playmaker TJ Ward added balance with explosive runs and key receptions.

Defensively, Nashville Christian made just enough plays to stay unbeaten, including two timely interceptions from Keandre Gibson and Hudson Smith. Tyner’s offense came to play, proving they can compete with anyone in the state, but Nashville Christian’s ability to close out high-pressure games continues to define their season.

Pearl-Cohn Flexes in 55–0 Rout of Greenbrier

Pearl-Cohn (4–4) delivered its most complete performance of the year, dismantling Greenbrier 55–0. The Firebirds exploded offensively from the opening kickoff, scoring in bunches and showing the big-play potential that makes them dangerous every week. The defense matched that energy, pitching a shutout and completely suffocating the Bobcats’ offense.

For Pearl-Cohn, this wasn’t just a win — it was a statement. After battling through early-season inconsistencies, the Firebirds look like a team peaking at the right time heading into the final stretch.

Momentum Monday Summary

  • Clutch Defense Wins Games: Brentwood Academy and Ensworth both closed out tight matchups with defensive composure.
  • Balance Creates Chaos: Nashville Christian’s mix of air and ground attack continues to overwhelm defenses.
  • Statement Rebounds: Pearl-Cohn reminded everyone why they’re perennial contenders with a dominant shutout.
