Oakland’s Craig Tutt during a postgame MVP interview after the TSSAA Blue Cross Bowl win

On the biggest stage in Tennessee high school football, Oakland running back Craig Tutt delivered one of the most dominant championship performances the TSSAA BlueCross Bowl has ever seen. In a game filled with hype, pressure, and undefeated records on both sides, Tutt took control of the night and powered Oakland past Ravenwood for another Class 6A state title.

Tutt finished with 32 carries for 226 yards and seven touchdowns, a stat line that looks unreal even in a video game. Every time Oakland needed a response, a spark, or a finishing touch at the goal line, the ball went right back into his hands. By the time the clock hit zero, there was no doubt who had owned the championship stage.

Setting the Tone Against Ravenwood

Ravenwood came into the BlueCross Bowl with a perfect record and plenty of firepower, but Oakland immediately set a physical tone. Tutt ran behind a locked-in offensive line and attacked the Ravens’ front with patience, vision, and power. Early in the game, his ability to grind out first downs and finish drives in the red zone put Ravenwood on its heels.

Oakland’s offense leaned on him from start to finish. Tutt handled a heavy workload and never looked like he was wearing down. He moved the chains on early downs, punished arm tackles, and turned small creases into explosive gains. His presence forced Ravenwood to load the box, which only opened up more balance for the Patriots’ attack.

A BlueCross Bowl Performance With Historic Weight

Seven touchdowns in a state championship game is more than a big night. It is the type of performance that gets remembered when people talk about the history of Tennessee high school football. Tutt did not just pile up stats in garbage time. His scores shaped the flow of the game, extending leads, breaking Ravenwood’s momentum, and shutting the door in key situations.

From short-yardage power runs to longer bursts into the second level, Tutt showed the complete skill set of a feature back. He trusted his blocks, stayed behind his pads, and finished runs with authority. By the fourth quarter, it felt like every Oakland drive was simply a countdown to another Tutt touchdown.

Prepared for a Championship Stage

What stood out about Tutt’s performance was how prepared he looked for every situation. The pace of the game, the adjustments from Ravenwood’s defense, and the pressure of the moment never seemed to rattle him. He ran with the poise of a player who had seen it all in practice and film study before the lights came on in Chattanooga.

Oakland’s coaching staff clearly built a game plan around his strengths, and Tutt rewarded that trust. The Patriots stuck with the run, stayed committed to their identity, and watched their lead grow as Tutt continued to find the end zone.

The Heartbeat of a Championship Run

Oakland has built a reputation as one of the gold standards in Tennessee high school football, and this BlueCross Bowl win reinforced that standard. On this night, Craig Tutt was the heartbeat of that effort. His seven-touchdown explosion turned a highly anticipated matchup into a statement win.

The final score told the story of Oakland’s dominance, and Tutt’s numbers spoke even louder. Thirty two carries. Two hundred twenty six rushing yards. Seven trips to the end zone. It was the kind of performance that teammates, coaches, and fans will talk about for years.

A Night That Elevates a Legacy

Every postseason run produces big plays and breakout names, but not every championship game produces a performance like this. Tutt turned the Class 6A BlueCross Bowl into his personal canvas and painted one of the most memorable individual efforts in recent TSSAA history.

From here, his profile will only continue to rise, whether it is through more awards, recruiting buzz, or future highlights. No matter what comes next, one thing is already locked in. When people talk about Oakland’s 2025 title run, they will start with this game and Craig Tutt’s seven-touchdown masterpiece.
