Written by Triple Threat Sportscast – Triple Threat D, Triple Threat TRAY, JG & Coach Daniel
The regular season is officially in the books, and the Triple Threat Sportscast crew has the numbers to prove who held up best.
Triple Threat Tray finished Season 2 on top of the crew report card at 72–18 (80.0%), but only 2.2 percentage points separated first from last. Across ten ballots, the four TTS voters (Triple Threat TRAY, Triple Threat D, JG and Coach Daniel) saw the teams on their ballots go 282–76 combined, or 78.8%. This total counts ballot appearances, so a team selected by multiple voters contributes to each voter’s record; it is not a count of unique games.
The season ended with a one-point race for No. 1. Riverdale edged Battle Ground Academy (BGA) 17–16 in the Week 11 vote, with two first-place votes for each team.
Here is how the season played out, who moved the board most, and where the final rankings landed.
The Crew Report Card
Tray’s ballots had the best record in the crew at 72–18 (80.0%). JG and Coach Daniel tied at 70–19 (78.7%), and D finished at 70–20 (77.8%).
| Voter | W–L | Win % | Byes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Triple Threat TRAY | 72–18 | 80.0% | 10 |
| JG | 70–19 | 78.7% | 11 |
| Coach Daniel | 70–19 | 78.7% | 11 |
| Triple Threat D | 70–20 | 77.8% | 10 |
W–L counts how the teams on each voter’s ballot did in the following reporting week. Each team counts once per ballot, all ten ranks count equally, and byes are left out. It measures how ballots held up, not head-to-head pick accuracy.
Week by Week
The crew rarely had a bad ballot. The only losing one all season was D’s 4–6 on ballot 2.
- Ballot 1: Coach Daniel opened fastest at 9–1, ahead of Tray and D (8–2) and JG (7–3).
- Ballot 2: The toughest ballot for everyone. Tray, JG and Coach Daniel all went 5–5, and D went 4–6.
- Tray: Four 8–2 ballots (1, 3, 5 and 6) and an 8–1 on ballot 4. He then went 21–0 across ballots 7 through 9, including the season’s only perfect 10–0 ballot on ballot 9.
- D: The 4–6 on ballot 2 was the only losing ballot any voter had all season, and he bounced right back with 8–2 and 8–1. From ballot 3 through ballot 9, D went 52–8 (86.7%), with 9–1 ballots on 5 and 9.
- Coach Daniel: Never dipped below .500 after ballot 2, and his late run was the best in the crew: 28–2 (93.3%) across ballots 6 through 9, with a 9–1, a 6–0, a 4–0 and another 9–1. He had three 9–1 ballots in all (1, 6 and 9).
- JG: Started slowest, with 7–3 on ballots 1 and 3, then found his footing with 9–1 on ballots 5, 6 and 9.
- Ballot 8: A short slate. All four voters went 4–0.
- Ballot 10: JG finished strongest at 8–2, while Tray, D and Coach Daniel each went 6–4.
Who Moved the Board?
Tray changed his board the least and had the best record, while JG changed his the most and finished tied with Coach Daniel at 70–19.
Over the 10 updates from Week 1 to Week 11, each voter filled 100 slots. Up, down and held count returning teams. Added counts entries, including returns.
| Voter | Up | Down | Held | Added |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tray | 25 | 23 | 43 | 9 |
| D | 31 | 19 | 38 | 12 |
| JG | 29 | 28 | 15 | 28 |
| Coach Daniel | 31 | 19 | 39 | 11 |
- Triple Threat Tray, The Anchor: 43 holds, the most in the crew.
- Triple Threat D, The Launchpad: 31 promotions, tied for most.
- JG, The Revolving Door: 28 additions and 28 downward moves, the most of each, with only 15 holds.
- Coach Daniel, The Steady Hand: 39 holds, second most, and 31 promotions, tied for most.
D and Coach Daniel read almost as mirror images, with identical 31 up and 19 down.
The labels describe movement, not judgment or accuracy. A downward move means a lower rank, not removal from the ballot. An addition is a new entry or a returning team that was absent from the previous ballot.
The Final Season 2 Board
Riverdale (9–1) enters the playoffs as the Triple Threat Sportscast No. 1 after rising from No. 3, finishing one point ahead of BGA in the Week 11 rankings.
| Rank | Team | Record | Points |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Riverdale | 9–1 | 17 |
| 2 | Battle Ground Academy | 9–1 | 16 |
| 3 | Brentwood Academy | 8–2 | 11 |
| 4 | Antioch | 10–0 | 9 |
| 5 | Page | 9–1 | 4 |
| 6 | Beech | 9–1 | 2 |
| 7 | Montgomery Bell Academy | 8–2 | 1 |
| 8 | Oakland | 8–2 | 0 |
| 9 | Ravenwood | 8–2 | 0 |
| 10 | Green Hill | 8–2 | 0 |
The TTS voting system awards five points for first place down to one point for fifth on each of four ballots, 60 points in all. Positions six through 10 score zero but help break ties.
BGA led the weekly rankings in Weeks 1–3 and 6–10, with Montgomery Bell Academy on top in Weeks 4 and 5. Riverdale took over in Week 11.
The final vote split down the middle. Triple Threat D and Triple Threat TRAY had BGA first, while JG and Coach Daniel had Riverdale. Page jumped from No. 10 to No. 5 after beating previously unbeaten Nolensville 38–17. Antioch finished 10–0 at No. 4, though Tray ranked them second and JG ranked them tenth.
What It Says Heading Into the Playoffs
Four voters with very different habits landed in nearly the same place. An anchor, a launchpad, a revolving door and a steady hand all finished within 2.2 percentage points of each other.
The rankings close with Week 11. Now the playoffs decide whether Riverdale, BGA, Brentwood Academy, Antioch and Page back up where the crew put them.
